A Festive New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve calls for something special, and when I go special, I like to stick with classic. Here, that means I pick up fancy filet mignons and build a meal around the steaks. That means Champagne (of course!), deliciously rich cocktails, and potato wedges. You can definitely prep the drinks station, roast the fennel and assemble the pizettes, cut the potato wedges, assemble the beet salad (keep it at room temperature), and make the baklava tartelettes (honey for a sweet new year!), ahead of time. Then sear the steaks, pop ‘em in the oven, and sit down to dinner. I’d say this menu works best for up to 8 people.
