Giveaway: Le Creuset Saute Pan Winner!

Posted by on Saturday Jun 5th, 2010 | Print

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Graduation Season Saute Pan Giveaway courtesy of LeCreuset!

We have had many a bare-bones meal ourselves, and you’ve witnessed some of them over the last year and a half on BGSK. Cara first made this chocolate bark out of her dorm microwave, and Phoebe learned her favorite one dish dump-and-stir Mexican Dip from her college roommate, Jillian. So we were especially pleased to hear that many of you resorted to similarly creative measures at college dining halls, by campfire flames, or during bouts of regular old pantry depression.
We chose a winner randomly from the list of commenters. Congrats to reader Katie O’Mara!
Here’s what Katie had to say:
After a hellishly long return flight from Seattle to Chicago, I arrived at my dorm room covered in CTA grime with no stamina left to do anything like look at a menu to order food. My pantry (a cardboard box) was bare. Dinner consisted of Trader Joes’ low-fat 100 calorie popcorn packs (2, cooked in the disgusting dorm microwave) and lemon tea.

Thank you again for sharing all the creative ways you’ve gone about feeding yourselves. We may be stealing some of your ideas soon. Especially Cara, who is still without a consistently cold fridge.

We’ll have more questions, and more exciting kitchen toys to give away soon-so keep coming back for seconds!

From our kitchen, albeit small, to yours,
Cara and Phoebe, THE QUARTER-LIFE COOKS
