We love to find out what our readers are cooking, eating, and thinking about cooking and eating, and we’ve always been huge believers in the wisdom of our fellow twenty-somethings in the kitchen. To that end, we’ve opened up two columns—Dude Food and Great Minds Eat Alike—to outside contributors.

If you are interested in writing a guest blog post for Great Minds Eat Alike or Dude Food please send us an email to bgsk [at] biggirlssmallkitchen [dot] com. Posts will ideally include one recipe and an accompanying image, plus a brief 200-400 word introduction. Longer narrative pieces are also welcomed on a case-by-case basis. Interviews need not necessarily include recipes.

Great Minds Eat Alike

We all know great minds think alike, but after being in the food blogging community, we’ve come to see that they eat alike too. In this column, we’ll be publishing guest posts from home cooks whose recipes, entertaining tips, and kitchen strategies mesh beautifully with ours. Great Minds guest posters will help the BGSK reader make the most of their limited resources—be it time, space, money, or skill.

We’ll also be seeking the counsel of seasoned chefs and cookbook authors, and sharing the advice they have for the younger generation cooking first meals in first kitchens. Posts will vary from the classic BGSK format, and will include interviews and reviews of relevant food-related reading.

Dude Food

We’ve been dying to get more guys involved on BGSK. As you can image, having “girls” in our title has been a bit of a deterrent for the male population. So we are starting a new section to host some manly food talk. We like to think of this section as the man cave that sits, secretly, beneath the BGSK kitchen. It will also include female guest bloggers musing on the subject of men and meals. Topics will include dating, male mastery of certain cuisines (as typical as BBQ, or as unexpected as salad), the ins and outs of bachelor dining, and awesome recipes from some of our favorite dudes.

BGSK College

If you’re a college student or recent grad, you may be able to contribute your writing or your marketing expertise to our new site, BGSK College. Email us at biggirlssmallkitchen [at] gmail [dot] com to find out more.
