Dinner Round the Campfire

Food just tastes better when you’re camping. No matter if the cheese in your sandwich is a little past due, the hummus store-bought, the bread smushy white bread. After a day of hiking or sliding down waterfalls, or a night spent in a tent under the stars, your appetite is hearty and everything tastes damn good. Of course that doesn’t mean we set the bar low! Campfire cooking doesn’t have to involve only food cooked rustically above the burning coals. With a little preparation, some good Tupperware, and a sturdy cooler, your campfire meal can go above and beyond what you remember from camp.

Minted Sweet Pea Dip with Tortilla Chips
This light, bright, make-ahead dip will tide you everyone over while you cook the main course

Flame-Kissed Italian Sausages with Whole Grain Mustard
Find some good sticks around your campsite and stick your sausages straight on them. Cook over the fire.

Twice-Baked Sweet Potatoes
Bake them once at home, then stuff and wrap them in heavy duty foil. Do their second bake in the campfire’s coals.

Chocolate Chip S’Mores
Sandwich two roasted marshmallows in between Chocolate Chip Cookies baked at home
