Midsummer Night’s Dinner

These dog days of summer, entertaining is all about simplicity. It’s not that we never want to cook or entertain, it’s just that in July and August we aim to be in and out of the kitchen as quickly as humanly possible. That means side dishes we can make ahead, protein that cooks super quickly-bonus if it works on the grill-and dessert that’s as simple as a bowl of super sweet cherries. Fortunately, summer produce conspires to aid our simple tastes, and we make the most of it in this delicious menu that’s perfect for a party of six or a weeknight family dinner.
