
Pound Cake with Strawberries and Creme Anglaise
Serves 12
Like a strawberry shortcake, this dessert is delicious and springy. Read the original recipe here.
Ingredients
1 pound cake
2-3 pints strawberries, cleaned, sliced and sprinkled with 1-2 tablespoons sugar
Creme anglaise
Slice the pound cake and top each portion with strawberries and creme anglaise. Or, put out the whole cake whole and let guests slice and add strawberries and cream. To simplify, you can even use regular whipped cream instead of creme anglaise.
